We visited Indian Restaurant Mumtaz in Puerto Banus

06/04/2020

As soon as we arrive, we are received by his manager, Mr. Juan Jiménez, who has a great knowledge of Puerto Banús and a long trajectory and experience in the sector. He tells us many anecdotes about the most interesting ones about the port in recent times and gives us to understand that the last years are possibly the best for Mumtaz.

We chose the terrace because the sun shines as usual in our city, although we must say that it has a very cozy lounge inside, the views are impressive from its terrace on the front line of the port and with the berths of the most important boats of the kings and sheiks who visit us throughout the year, we can also see our famous peak of La Concha, its situation at the end of the port gives a special charm to the restaurant.

The food that Juan recommends us is from its exquisite appetizer we are served "Papadum", which consists of a bread of Indian origin that is usually taken as an appetizer accompanied by some typical sauces of that country (some are pican and others are not), accompanied from the beginning of a good beer from India.

Next and as main dish advised by Juan again we serve several specialties of the house that consist of; "Samosas" some triangles stuffed with vegetables or meat very good crunchy and small, "Murg tandoori", a chicken prepared with a special recipe of the house to the barbecue and the furnace; "Chicken Tikka Masala" prepared on the barbecue and cooked with cream and tomato yoghurt; "Pasanda Nawabi Lamb" cut very fine and made with fresh cream, yoghurt and ground nuts, a softer dish to balance the menu, also a must on the menu; "Pillau Rice" cooked with aromatic spices, saffron with pea garnish. And all this accompanied by a typical Indian bread "Peshawri Nan" delicious.

Evidently in their menu you will be able to find infinity of plates, this is only a small sample of what they will be able to find in Mumtaz Restaurant, a highly recommendable experience as much for the adults as for the children who as Juan comments to us enjoy almost more than the parents in this wonderful business full of history and tradition, do not let pass by here when they visit Puerto Banus.
